Curriculum Development The GLOBE Center helps to coordinate the following graduate-level curriculum programs:MBA Specialization MA in Translation and Localization Management MBA Specialization The curriculum for the MBA specialization in globalization/localization includes instructional modules and courses that draw on content from such areas as cross-cultural understanding and communication, managing innovation and change, technology transfer, marketing across borders, strategic partnering, international business law, and managing diversity. Courses that are pertinent from the curricula of the other three schools at the Institute may be included in the specialization for MBA students. For example, the “Software Localization” course currently taught by our Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation is a good candidate for cross-enrollment. Students who are pursuing a degree program are provided opportunities to work on globalization/localization projects (e.g., international business plans, product beta testing) as part of their curriculum. Foreign language training is required of degree candidates and will be available for business practitioners on an as needed basis through our Graduate School of Language and Educational Linguistics. MA in Translation and Localization Management The MA in Translation and Localization Management is offered jointly by the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation (GSTI) and the The Fisher International MBA Program to students interested in combining the education and skills sets required for working successfully in various translation and localization environments. In addition to a foundation of translation and language training courses, this degrees provides education in technology (e.g. computer-assisted translation, software/website localization, terminology management) and business (e.g. project management, marketing, economics). |
